Alan Davenport

  Alan Davenport 1965-2024 (age 58) Alan L. Davenport, age 58, died at his residence on Thursday, February 29, 2024 following a brief battle with cancer. Alan was the youngest son of the late Oliver Hoyle Davenport and the late Opal Hudson Davenport, born on April 9, 1965. He was a member of Hopewood Baptist Church and had worked for many years at Ricky's Automobile Repairs. Survivors are his brothers, Darius Davenport and wife Carol, and Steve Davenport and wife Dorine, his step-siblings, Carl Vess and wife Janet, and Ellen Carter and husband James, step-sister-in-law, Darlene Vess, and a large number of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Patricia Kendrick Davenport on November 17, 2023, his brother, Ricky Davenport and wife Kay, step-mother, Madge Davenport, a step-brother, Max Vess Jr, and an infant sister, Maxine Davenport.  A Visitation will be conducted from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm on Saturday, March 2, 2024 at the Ridgewood Mor

Taylor Green

  Taylor Green 2005 - 2024 (age 18) Taylor Mason Green, age 18, passed away at the McEntire Hospital on Wednesday, February 21, 2024, following complications of an automobile accident. He was born on October 5, 2005, in Jones County, to Joey and Stacey Green. Taylor was a lifelong member of Jordan Baptist Church. He was a graduate of Ridgewood High School, class of 2023, and an employee of Tucker Brothers Landscaping and Lawncare.  In addition to his parents, he is survived by his fiance, Morgan Natalie Mason, his pride and joy who affectionately called him "dada" Mason Joseph Green, his little brother, Mitchell Austin Green, paternal grandparents, Joe and Roxanne Green, maternal grandparents, Shawn and Millie Hampton, and numerous nieces and nephews. The Family will receive friends Monday, February 26, 2024 at the Ridgewood Mortuary and Crematory from 5-8:30 pm. Frieda Norton

Freda Norton 1946 - 2024 (age 78) Freda Gregory Norton, age 78, passed away at the McEntire Hospice House on Tuesday, February 20, 2024. She was born on January 20, 1946, in Spartanburg County, SC, to the late Homer Gregory and the late Gladys Gregory. Freda was a lifelong  member of Stanley Baptist Church and had recently joined Carlisle Fork Baptist Church. Freda enjoyed investing in the lives of children, especially in her work as a preschool teacher at Montgomery Christian Preschool. She will be sorely missed by her friends and family for many years to come.  Survivors are her husband of fifty-six years, Joel Norton, her sons, Joe Norton, and wife Kiera, and Jamie Norton and wife Melissa, her daughter, Joanne Norton Landreth and husband Jason, grandchildren, Austin, Alex, Avery, Anderson, Megan, Chloe, and Sarah, and six great-grandchildren. Nell Harris 1940 - 2024 (age 83) Mary Nell Harris, age 83, passed away at her residence on February 18, 2024, following a short illness. Nell was born on June 6, 1940, in Ridgewood, to the late Marvin and Mary Roller. Nell was a member of Oak Baptist Church for many years and was a faithful member of the Esther Sunday School Class. She was a retired Physician's Assistant for Ridgewood Orthopedic Care.  She is survived by her husband, Wallace Harris, her sons, Wallace Harris Jr. and wife Crystal, and Joey Harris and wife Terri, her daughter, Tracy Ellis and husband Michael, her beloved grandchildren,  A Visitation will be held from 6-7:30 pm on February 20, 2024 at the Ridgewood Mortuary and Crematory. The service will be held at 3:00 pm on February 21, 2024 at the Oak Baptist Church with Reverend Timothy Hopkins officiating. Interment will follow the service in the Oak Baptist Church Cemetery. The family has entrusted the Ridgewood Mortuary and Crematory.

  Nathan Arrowood 2000 - 2024 (age 23) Nathan Graham Arrowood, age 23, passed away February 5, 2024 at the Walton Hospital, following a short illness. Nathan was born on March 19, 2000, in Jones County, to Mike Graham Arrowood, and Misha Jolly Arrowood, who reside in Jonesville. He was a graduate of Jonesville High School and Jonesville Technical College where he was a member of the Honor Society. He was faithful in his attendance to McArthur Baptist Church where he had been a member for many years. Nathan enjoyed Basketball, Baseball, Fishing, Shooting Guns, and Watching Sports. He will be missed by many for many years to come. Mattie Springfield 1938-2024 (age 85) Joyce Mattie Frances Springfield, age 85, passed away on February 1, 2024 at her residence following a number of illnesses. Mattie was born on February 19, 1938 to the late Smitty Frances, and the late Dora Campbell Frances. She was a faithful member of Oak Baptist Church for over 60 years, attending with her husband and children. She was formerly the church pianist, a sunday school teacher, and Vacation Bible School Director. She was a homemaker and loved to cook, clean, and care for her family. Robert Hayes

  Robert Hayes 1929-2024 (age 95) Robert Hudson Hayes, age 95, passed away at the Brookwillow Assisted Living Center on February 1, 2024. Robert was born on January 15, 1929, to the late Hudson Hayes and the late Aileen Morrison Hayes. He was a member of Palm's Creek Church of God where he formerly directed the music. In addition to his job as the Music Director for Palm's Creek Church of God, he also taught music at Ridgewood High School for many years.  He is survived by his loving wife of 73 years, Doris Palm Hayes, two sons, Earl Hayes and wife Susie, and Wayne Hayes and wife Patty, three daughters, Myra Hayes Millwood and husband Jerry, Misty Hayes Carlisle and husband Raymond, and Maria Hayes Brady and husband William, brother, Lincoln Hayes and wife Goldie, sisters, Ruth Hayes Bailey, and Arlene Hayes, twelve grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two stillborn children, a b
