1965-2024 (age 58)

Alan L. Davenport, age 58, died at his residence on Thursday, February 29, 2024 following a brief battle with cancer. Alan was the youngest son of the late Oliver Hoyle Davenport and the late Opal Hudson Davenport, born on April 9, 1965. He was a member of Hopewood Baptist Church and had worked for many years at Ricky's Automobile Repairs.

Survivors are his brothers, Darius Davenport and wife Carol, and Steve Davenport and wife Dorine, his step-siblings, Carl Vess and wife Janet, and Ellen Carter and husband James, step-sister-in-law, Darlene Vess, and a large number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Patricia Kendrick Davenport on November 17, 2023, his brother, Ricky Davenport and wife Kay, step-mother, Madge Davenport, a step-brother, Max Vess Jr, and an infant sister, Maxine Davenport. 

A Visitation will be conducted from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm on Saturday, March 2, 2024 at the Ridgewood Mortuary and Crematory. Services will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Sunday, March 3, 2024 at the Ridgewood Mortuary and Crematory with Pastor Zachary Prescott officiating. Interment will immediately follow the service in the Davenport Family Cemetery. The family has entrusted the Ridgewood Mortuary adn Crematory with the arrangements.
