1940 - 2025 (age 84)

Vernice “Mama” Hester Ball, age 84, of Ridgewood, died at the Safe Rest Assisted Living Center on April 5, 2025. She was born in Miners County on December 9, 1940 to the late Norris Hester and the late Bernice Williams Hester. Mama was a member of Palm’s Creek Church of God all her life and was a homemaker.  

Survivors are her daughter, Cindy B. Gordon and husband Todd, granddaughter, Christina B. Humphries (Tyler),  great-grandson, Justin Humphries and fiance Noel, sister, Greta Hester, and a host of church family. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Eugene Ball, son, Bernard Ball, and daughter-in-law, Kim Ball. 

The family will receive friends from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm Monday, April 7, 2025 at the Palm’s Creek Church of God. The funeral service will be conducted at 12:00 pm on Monday, April 7, 2025 at the Palm’s Creek Church of God with Bishop William Brady, Reverend Larry Tyson, and Reverend Scott Womack officiating. Interment will follow in the New Day Memorial Park. The Ridgewood Mortuary and Crematory has been trusted with the arrangements.
