1924 - 2024 (age 99)

Arlene Dorothy Hayes, age 99, of Ridgewood, died Monday, June 3, 2024, at the Brookwillow Assisted Living Center where she was a longtime resident. Arlene was born July 19, 1924 in Jones County to the late Hudson Hayes and the late Aileen Morrison Hayes. She was a member of Palm's Creek Church of God. She was a teacher for Ridgewood Elementary School for several years, retiring in the 1980's. 

She is survived by a brother, Lincoln Hayes and wife Goldie, sister, Ruth Bailey, sisters-in-law, Doris Hayes and Ethel Hayes, and a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Hayes and Harold Hayes, sister, Vera Swink, and brother-in-law, Gordon Swink.

The body will lie-in-state from 9:00 am until 10:30 am on Wednesday, June 5, 2024 in the Ridgewood Mortuary and Crematory. A Graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, June 5, 2024 in the Ridgewood Community Cemetery with Bishop William Brady officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Palm's Creek Church of God. 

The Ridgewood Mortuary and Crematory has been entrusted with the arrangements.
