1938 - 2024 (age 86)

Amos Glen Simpson Sr., age 86, of Ridgewood, died at his residence on Saturday, April 6, 2024 following a lengthy illness. Glen was born on February 16, 1938 in Jones County to the late Amos and Lorena Simpson. He was a member of Ridgewood Community Church where he was a member of the choir. Glen retired from Belk Mills and graduated from Ridgewood High School in 1956.

Survivors are his loving wife of 63 years, Alice Glover Simpson, his sons, Amos Glen Simpson Jr. and wife Melanie, and Grady Simpson and wife Susie, grandchildren, Trent Simpson and wife Michelle, Doug Simpson and wife Samantha, Christy S. Evans and husband Sean, Jonah Simpson and wife Morgan, and Jeremiah Banos, his son-in-law, Ken Banos, brother, Earl Simpson and wife Lou, and numerous nieces and nephews. There is also a number of great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Sheri Banos, and his brothers, Joe Simpson and Bobby Simpson.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm on Tuesday, April 9, 2024 at the Ridgewood Mortuary and Crematory. The service will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at the Ridgewood Community Church with Reverend Ryan Holt officiating. Interment will follow the service in the Meadow Springs Cemetery. The Ridgewood Mortuary and Crematory has been entrusted with the arrangements.
