Gene McGuire

1955 - 2024 (age 68)

Stanley Eugene "Gene" McGuire, age 68, passed away surrounded by his family on Saturday, March 9, 2024 at the McEntire Hospital. Gene was born on April 8, 1955 in Jones County, to the late Houston McGuire and the late Avis Matheny McGuire. He was a teacher at Tate Middle School until his retirement in 2021. He was a graduate of Jonesville High School, Jonesville Technical College, and the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. He was a faithful mason at the Jonesville Masonic Lodge.

He is survived by his wife, Lucy Evans McGuire, his daughters, Stephanie M. Swann and husband Todd, Rachel M. Kodes and husband Brian, and Krystal McGuire, his grandchildren, Amber Wilson and husband Jake, Autumn Swann and fiance Cole Franks, Noah Kodes, and Nathan Kodes, brothers, Dennis McGuire and wife Pat, and Dale McGuire and wife Gina, and a number of nephews and nieces.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Ray McGuire.

SERVICE ARRANGEMENTS FOR GENE & LUCY MCGUIRE

The Family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Thursday, March 14, 2024 at the Ridgewood Mortuary and Crematory. The service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, March 15, 2024 at the Ridgewood Mortuary and Crematory with Reverend Bruce Holt and Reverend Kenny Hands officiating. Interment will follow the service in the Jonesville City Cemetery. In lieu of floral gifts, please consider making donations to the Jones County Workshop in memory of Gene and Lucy McGuire.  

The family has entrusted the Ridgewood Mortuary and Crematory with the Services.
