Arthur Richard Stancil 

1952-2022 (age 70)

Rev. Arthur Richard Stancil, 70, of Minersville, passed away September 15, 2022, at the McEntire Hospice House, following a battle with lung cancer. He was born September 1, 1952, in Ridgewood, to Rev. Paul Stancil and the late Ruby Stancil. He was most recently the pastor of Minersville First Baptist Church until he retired in March 2021. In addition to his service at Minersville First Baptist Church, he was the pastor at Ridgewood Baptist Church, Clyde Road Baptist Church, and filled in as pastor at Jordan Baptist Church in recent years.

In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife, Kaye Stancil, children, Todd Stancil (Christine), Lisa Freeman (Ronnie), and David Stancil (Donna), grandchildren, Xavier Stancil (Maggie), Jaxyn Stancil, and David Stancil Jr, brother, Rev. Jamie Stancil (Sheraton), sisters, Maggie Stephenson (Ken), and Paula Everett (Gene), and 6 great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 3 pm Monday, September 19, 2022 at Cash Memorial Baptist Church with Rev. Jamie Stancil officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-4 pm, Sunday, September 18, 2022, at the Ridgewood Mortuary & Crematory.
