Maxine Evans Wood May 15, 1950 – June 21, 2025 Maxine Evans Wood, age 75, passed away peacefully on June 21, 2025. A beloved wife, mother, sister, teacher, and friend, Maxine will be remembered for her kind heart, steady faith, and unwavering commitment to those she loved. Born on May 15, 1950, to the late Bailey and Joyce Harper Evans, Maxine was a proud graduate of Jonesville High School and the University of Tennessee. She dedicated much of her life to education, retiring after many years as a teacher at Tate Middle School, where she impacted countless young lives with compassion and wisdom. Maxine was a devoted member of Oak Baptist Church, where she found strength in her faith and community. Her warm presence and gentle spirit made her a cherished part of the congregation. She is survived by her loving husband, Robert “Bobby” L. Wood; her son, Evan Wood, and his wife Amanda; and her brothers, Bobby Ray Evans (Sheliah) and Earl Evans (Dorothy).
